Beach Shelter Pack (NEW) Description
BUILT FOR SAND • ENGINEERED TO HOLD • READY FOR ADVENTURE
Why Sand Dog Pegs?
When you're setting up on sand, your gear needs serious anchoring power. That's where the Sand Dog Screw in Pegs® come in. Purpose-built for the beach, these 450mm pegs deliver unbeatable grip, fast setup, and no-hassle removal - no matter how windy it gets. Standard tent pegs simply don't work in sand - they pull out easily. Sand Dog Screw in Pegs® are specifically engineered to grip and hold in loose sand conditions where other pegs fail completely.
Key Features:
Sand-Specific Design
- 450mm Length - Deep-set anchoring power that reaches below the loose surface sand.
- Wide 50mm Flutes - Extra surface area creates maximum grip in sand.
Built to Last
- Reinforced Nylon Construction - Won't rust, corrode, or degrade in saltwater.
- UV Resistant - Handles constant sun exposure without becoming brittle.
- Lightweight - Won't weigh down your beach gear.
Easy Setup & Removal
- 19mm Hex Head - Quick install with standard drill socket or manual installation
- Double Hook Head - Secure attachment point for Safety Springs or Tie Down Straps (sold separately).
- Easy Removal - Reverse out cleanly - no digging required.
Weather Considerations:
- Your Beach Shelter is a big investment, make sure to use enough Sand Dog Screw in Pegs® to properly secure your Shelter.
- Strong winds expected: be ready to pack down in a hurry to avoid damage.
Setting up is a Breeze
Step 1: Assemble Components
- Attach the longer piece of the Tie Down Strap to the Safety Spring by passing the loop end through either end of the Safety Spring then place the other end of the strap through the loop and pull through.
- Connect the shorter piece of the Tie Down Strap by passing the looped end through the gazebos tiedown loop, then pass the Cam Bucke end through the loop on the other end.
Step 2: Position Your Shelter / Gazebo on level ground where possible, unfold and stand frame.
- Scrape away the top layer of loose soft sand to expose the more compact sand
- Drive in a Sand Dog Screw in Peg® at each corner of the Shelter / Gazebo
- Attach the Safety Spring with Tie Down Strap attached to the Hook Collar
- Connect the long piece of the Tie Down Strap to the shorter piece and tighten making sure the Safety Spring is not distorted. (If the safety spring is elongated, it has been pulled too tight).
- Secure the loose end of the Tie Down Strap in the retaining clip.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Peg won't go in: Check you're turning clockwise. Ensure adequate downward pressure.
Strap too tight/loose: Adjust tension gradually, do not over tighten. (If the safety spring is elongated, it has been pulled too tight). Remember awning needs some flexibility in wind.
Peg pulling out: Sand is too soft (nothing will hold in loose sand). Scrape away top layer to expose the more compacted layer of sand.
Awning stress: Reduce strap tension, safety springs should not be distorted.
