Gazebo Tie Down Kit (NEW) Description
WHY YOU NEED THIS KIT
Protect Your Investment: Gazebos are expensive. Wind damage from inadequate tie-downs can destroy your Gazebo in minutes. Tying down a gazebo with standard tent pegs fail in varying ground conditions - too hard, too soft, or uneven terrain where full depth isn't possible.
The Gazebo Tie Down Kit provides a complete and reliable anchoring system that can be used across the widest range possible of ground types.
Peace of Mind: Knowing your awning is properly secured, even in unexpected weather changes.
Versatile Performance: Works in challenging conditions where standard tent pegs fail:
- Extreme hard packed terrain.
- Soft, muddy ground - Big Dog Screw in Peg™ upgrade recommended.
- Beach Sand - Sand Dog Screw in Peg® upgrade recommended.
-
Wide range of ground compatibility - Works in hard dirt, clay, and sandy, grass-covered terrain
BEFORE YOU START
What You'll Need:
- Cordless drill with 19mm socket OR a Ground Dog 19mm Hand Tool
- Your Gazebo ready to set up.
OPERATING TIPS
Weather Considerations:
- Most gazebos are considered a sunshade, suitable only in light winds.
- Your Gazebo is a big investment, don’t be fooled by calm conditions, Always Tie Down your Gazebo!
- Sudden Strong winds: Your Gazebo is just like a big sail just waiting for the wind the get under it, In the event of sudden strong wind or storm, drop down the roof of the gazebo to its lowest point and adjust the Tiedown Straps to avoid damage.
Ground Conditions:
- Hard Rocky ground: use Tuff Dog Screw in Pegs™
- Soft/muddy ground: upgrade to Big Dog Screw in Pegs™
- Beach: upgrade to Sand Dog Screw in Pegs®
This design creates a flush, low-profile setup that minimizes trip hazards while maximizing stability.
Setting up is a Breeze
Step 1: Assemble Components
- Attach the longer piece of the Tie Down Strap to the Safety Spring by passing the loop end through either end of the Safety Spring then place the other end of the strap through the loop and pull through.
- Connect the shorter piece of the Tie Down Strap by passing the looped end through the gazebos tiedown loop, then pass the cam buckle end through the loop on the other end.
Step 2: Position Your Gazebo on level ground where possible, unfold and stand frame.
- Drive in a Ground Dog Screw in Peg® with Hook Collar at each corner of the gazebo stopping to allow enough room to attach the Safety Spring with Tie Down Strap.
- Attach the Safety Spring to the Hook Collar and complete driving in the Ground Dog Screw in Peg®.
- Connect the long piece of the Tie Down Strap to the shorter piece and tighten making sure the Safety Spring is not distorted. (If the Safety Spring is elongated, it has been pulled too tight).
