Why Ground Dog Screw-In Pegs®?
When you’re setting up on hard or unpredictable ground, standard pegs aren’t enough. That’s where Ground Dog Screw-In Pegs® come in.
Designed for dirt, clay and compacted soil, these 250mm screw-in pegs drive deep and lock into the ground for reliable holding power. With a 4mm tapered tip, they penetrate tough ground more easily while maintaining strength where it matters.
Straight pegs rely on friction and often bend, loosen or pull out. Ground Dog Screw-In Pegs® screw in and stay put, delivering consistent anchoring where others fail.

FAQs
What is the difference between the Tough Dog and Ground Dog
There are 2 key differences between the Tough Dog and Ground Dog.
The overall length - 250mm on the Ground Dog Vs 180mm on the Tough Dog.
The tip dimension - 4mm on the Ground Dog Vs 6mm on the Tough Dog.
What does this mean for you?
Simply put, the Tough Dog is going to go into harder ground and stay secure more easily. So if you tend to camp in areas with really hard ground, the Tough Dog is your go to. If it is more soil, the Ground Dog should be your go-to
Do I need special tools to use Ground Dog Screw In Pegs?
You can use a 19mm drill socket, or if you don’t have one, we include a hand crank as an option. We also recommend using a drill driver, not an impact driver.
What kind of ground can these pegs handle?
Ground Dog Screw In Pegs™ are designed to work on a variety of surfaces, including rocky, sandy, and grass-covered soil. Their aggressive thread ensures a strong hold, no matter where you camp. If you're screwing directly into sand, use the Sand Dogs instead.
Are the pegs rust-resistant?
Yes! The stainless steel construction means they won’t rust or corrode, even after extended exposure to the elements.
What should I do if my peg won’t go in?
Make sure you’re turning counterclockwise, apply firm downward pressure, and try another spot if the ground is too hard.
What if my peg starts bending?
Stop immediately. You may have hit a rock or tree root. Never use an impact drill with Ground Dog Screw in Pegs®.
Why is my peg spinning without going into the ground?
The ground may be too loose or sandy. Move to an area with more compact soil.
How To Use
With a Hook Collar
Screw in the peg as far as possible with a 19mm socket, then wind the Hook Collar down to ground level for extra hold in tough ground conditions.
With a Wing Collar
Attach the Wing Collar to the peg, drill in vertically, and wind the collar down to secure it in place.
