Big Dog Screw In Pegs™ Description

Lock It Down in the Softest Conditions

WHY YOU NEED BIG DOG SCREW IN PEGS™

Built for Soft Terrain: Exclusively engineered for muddy, ultra-soft conditions and hard-packed sand where regular pegs simply can't get a grip.

Deep Penetration: 350mm length drives deep into soft ground for maximum holding power when conditions turn challenging.

Professional Grade: Constructed from tough aluminium alloy that won't fail when you need secure anchoring most.

Versatile Performance: Excels in challenging conditions where standard tent pegs fail:

  • Muddy riverbanks and campsites
  • Ultra-soft ground after heavy rain
  • Hard-packed beach sand
  • Loose, saturated soil

Peace of Mind: Sleep soundly knowing your gear stays put even when the ground turns to mush.

Safety First:  Check weather conditions before setup.

Do not use an impact drill - this will damage the peg and void warranty.

IMPORTANT: Big Dog Screw in Pegs™ have LEFT-HAND THREAD - turn COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to install!

⚠️ GROUND COMPATIBILITY WARNING Big Dog Screw in Pegs™ are NOT suitable for dry, hard soils. For these conditions, use Ground Dog Screw in Pegs® or Tuff Dog Screw in Pegs.

OPERATING TIPS

Ground Conditions:

  • Muddy Ground: Big Dog Screw in Pegs™ excel - the aggressive left-hand thread grips where others slip.
  • Ultra-Soft Soil: 350mm length provides deep anchoring when surface conditions are unstable.
  • Hard-Packed Sand: Tapered shaft allows good penetration, locking in the deeper it penetrates.
  • Wet Conditions: Aluminium alloy construction resists corrosion.

Weather Considerations:

  • Monitor weather conditions during use.
  • Big Dog Pegs are specifically designed for wet, soft conditions.
  • Remember that proper anchoring is only one part of weather safety.

No Drill? No Problem: Keep a Ground Dog Hand Tool in your kit or place a rod or long screwdriver through the 12mm rod hole and twist manually for bush-ready backup.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Peg won't go in: Check you're turning counterclockwise. Ensure adequate downward pressure. Ground may be too hard - switch to Ground Dog Screw in Pegs® instead.

Peg spinning without penetrating: Ground may be too loose. Try different location.

Peg bending: Stop immediately - you may be hitting rock, large tree root or the ground is too hard. Switch to Ground Dog Screw in Pegs® for hard ground conditions.

Great pegs that work brilliantly

Really impressed with these super tough pegs. Very easy to drive into hard ground with an electric drill. Very well made & solid. Once driven in they give me great confidence they will hold fast and cone out easily with no sweat or fear of breaking them. Perfect in a campervan where weight isn’t an issue. Well worth the money in my opinion they should last for years & years.
